SPECIAL AFFECTS
This work was developed at the same time as I was working as part of Steve Ovett and was shown alongside work by Emma Tolmie and Kenny Watson. The objects and screens act as sculptural supports and are as important to the work as the images that they present.
A projector descends precariously from a zimmer frame, elongated legs protrude out and up the wall, seducing the viewer with their hypnotic rhythm. A computer generated torso flickers at eye height, provocatively gyrating to a sleazy sound track while uncomfortably connected to the wall by an incapacitated stomach cruncher. All the while three Wella girls innocently peek out from their picture frames in the corner.
